New European Bauhaus Days at Center Rog Creative Hub
SEE NEW EUROPEAN BAUHAUS DAYS CATALOG
On Thursday, 24th October, at Center Rog Creative Hub, we successfully held the main event as part of the New European Bauhaus Days, organized by the Faculty of Design. The event focused on a key question: How can we, in the field of creative industries, use humanity centered design – to make a better world?
The event was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Blažka Muller, PhD, and it began with a greetings speech by Prof. Nada Rožmanec Matičič, u.d.i.a., acting dean of the Faculty of Design, followed by the speeches of distinguished international guests who joined us remotely: the speech of Prof. Tomas Garvey, PhD, was read (president of the World Design Organization), Prof. Hena Ali, PhD, Rozina Spinnoy (BIDS Belgium) and Prof. Rajendra Kumar, (Lovely School of Architecture and Design).
Two Design Talks followed – round tables, which highlighted the key topics of human-oriented design.
The first round table was moderated by Prof. Nada Rožmanec Matičič, u.d.i.a., and Sen. Lect. Tjaša Čakš, M.A., and the following speakers took part:
- Andrej Mercina, BA Arch. (TRIIIJE Architects)
- Jani Demšar, M.A. of Design (Geodetic Institute of Slovenia)
- Prof. Dragan Ćalović, PhD (Faculty of Contemporary Arts, Serbia)
- Prof. Giuseppe Marinelli (ISIA Roma Pordenone Public University, Italy)
- Prof. Rajendra Kuamar, Prof. Raghuraman Mahalingam, Prof. Tara Singla (Lovely School of Architecture and Design, India) – online
The second Design talk was moderated by Lynne Elvins (Design Rally, UK) and the following speaker stook part:
- Assist. Prof. Arbresha Ibrahimi, PhD, Prof. Marija Miloshevska Janakieska, PhD, Assist. Vjosa Saracini, MSc (International Balkan University, North Macedonia)
- Anamarija Čuden (Faculty od Design, master student)
In addition to the round tables, as part of the event, we also opened the exhibition “Visual Ideas” by Assoc. Prof. Martina Kač Nemanič, PhD, which was placed on the first floor of the Center Rog, which will later be on display on the ground floor of the Faculty of Design, Dunajska c. 129.
The afternoon part was devoted to lectures on the Alpine textile heritage within the AlpTextyles project. The lecturers were:

- Markus Lambracht, MA (Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, Germany) – online
- Davide Alesina Maietti (Instituto Marangoni, Italy) – online

The event was an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, connect and find creative solutions for global challenges facing the world.
