Two Workshops with Visiting Professor Vanda Jurković
On Monday, 26 October, we welcomed Full Professor Vanda Jurković from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the University of Zagreb, who led two international workshops for first-year Visual Communications students.
The workshops explored “Ornament as a Structural and Aesthetic Element in Design” and “The Vignette as an Element of Visual Storytelling and Framing.”
How can ornament shape a composition? How can a vignette guide the viewer’s eye and support a story? Both topics invite us to consider how individual visual elements contribute to a whole – its structure, expression and message. Even a seemingly small detail can play an important role.
We are pleased that, from the very beginning of their studies, our students have opportunities to discover different creative and teaching approaches and learn from visiting lecturers from abroad. These encounters encourage new questions, experimentation and a broader perspective on design.
We thank Professor Vanda Jurković for her visit and for sharing her knowledge with our students.
