Faculty of Design Students Receive BIG SEE – Perspective 2025 Awards
We are proud to announce that the students of the Faculty of Design have been awarded the international recognition BIG SEE – Perspective 2025, presented by BIG SEE, one of the most influential platforms for promoting creativity, innovation, and design excellence in the South-East European region.
The BIG SEE – Perspective Award is dedicated to outstanding young creators who, through their visionary approaches, announce the future of design, architecture, fashion, and visual culture.
This recognition proves that our students are not merely following contemporary trends – they are actively shaping them with authorship, research-based thinking, and a strong sense of design responsibility. At the Faculty of Design, we believe in the power of comprehensive knowledge, personal development, and responsible creation. Receiving such international awards fills us with sincere pride and confirms that we are building an environment that encourages excellence, curiosity, and innovative thinking.
Awarded Students of the Faculty of Design
GAJA ZADRAVEC – Fashion
A graduate of Fashion and Textiles, Gaja stands out for her unique aesthetic, use of sustainable materials, and refined technical execution. Her final collection Movement of Life, created under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Matea Benedetti, was inspired by Japanese cultural heritage and the poetic quality of ceramic glaze patterns. The collection was presented at Ljubljana Fashion Week, where she received the LJFW WOW Award, and later exhibited at several notable design exhibitions. Her work embodies authorial fashion, narrative thinking, and contemporary sustainable design values.
JURIJ ŠTEBLAJ – Industrial Design
In his graduation project, Jurij developed the concept of a 17-meter sailing yacht, merging aesthetics and technology with ergonomic and user-oriented design. He independently designed both the exterior and interior of the vessel, demonstrating strong understanding of contemporary marine technologies and market positioning. His project reflects a high level of professionalism and a clear direction towards a future design career.
NEJC KUTNAR – Interior Design
For the company Kova d.o.o., Nejc developed a conceptual design of a modular holiday mobile home, integrating sustainable materials, energy efficiency, and compact spatial logic. The project combines market relevance with responsible design thinking. Throughout his studies, he demonstrated a thoughtful and research-based approach to every assignment and received multiple acknowledgements for his design achievements.
ALJA MARGON, LARA KLANDER & MAŠA PIVK – Interior, Architecture
Through their project of a universal hotel interior prototype adaptable to various locations, the students showcased a deep understanding of spatial narrative, technical drawing, and architectural expression. Their work merges technical precision with conceptual strength, positioning the project among the most accomplished academic works in the field of interior architecture.
Each awarded project represents a story of dedication, research, courage, and talent. As a Faculty, we are deeply honoured to witness the development of such remarkable individuals who are already stepping into the international design arena!
