Bureau of European Design Associations Events in Brussels

Last week, our Dean, Prof. Nada Matičič, participated in the 56th regular meeting of BEDA (Bureau of European Design Associations) and the Friday Forum, which took place on Friday, 16 May, in Brussels. This important event brought together experts and representatives of European design organizations who focused on the future of design in Europe and BEDA’s strategic directions for the coming period.

During the session, BEDA members made several key decisions, including the extension of the mandates of the President and Vice Presidents, as well as the ratification of four new member organizations. This reflects a positive momentum and the inclusion of new partners in BEDA.

Professor Matičič actively participated in discussions and followed the presentation of BEDA’s progress over the past year, including the release of significant documents such as the BEDA Position Paper. Special attention was also given to the MADres project, which aims to foster digital, green, and social transformations through responsible design.

New members were also welcomed at the event, including the Service Design Network, Design Museum Gent, and Fundació del Disseny de la Comunitat Valenciana. These organizations are expected to contribute to the further development of European design through new collaborations.

Prof. Matičič’s participation in this event reflects our ongoing commitment to collaboration with European design organizations and our efforts to strengthen the influence of Slovenian design within the broader European context.
