Academic Assembly Ceremony – Celebrating 20 Years of the Faculty of Design
Following the programme of World Habitat Days 2025, which marked a week of international exchange, academic dialogue and creative collaboration, we concluded the celebration on Friday, 10 October 2025, at 6 PM with a ceremonial session of the Academic Assembly at the City Museum of Ljubljana to mark the 20th anniversary of the Faculty of Design.
The evening took place in a warm and respectful atmosphere, dedicated to reflecting on our shared journey, strengthening the academic community and looking towards the future.
The assembly was formally opened with an honorary address by Prof. Peter Krečič, President of the Academic Assembly, who highlighted the cultural and intellectual role of the Faculty and its place within the wider field of design, art, and architecture.
The event was gracefully moderated by Asst. Prof. Blažka Muller, a long-standing colleague and friend of the Faculty, who guided the narrative of the evening with her characteristic composure and warmth.
The Vice Deans presented the Faculty’s strategic directions across artistic, research, academic and international development, emphasising the importance of vision and responsibility in shaping the next decades.
In her concluding address, Dean Prof. Nada Rožmanec Matičič expressed sincere gratitude to all colleagues, students and partners who have contributed to the growth and identity of the Faculty over the past twenty years, and underlined the importance of dedication to knowledge, academic excellence and a strong spirit of collaboration.
The ceremony offered a valuable moment to reconnect, exchange memories and celebrate this important milestone together. We revisited our beginnings, acknowledged the challenges and achievements of the past, and above all maintained a forward-looking vision, dedicated to future generations and the continued development of design as a cultural and developmental force.
