8th international scientific conference

The Faculty of Design and EMUNI University are pleased to announce the 8th International Scientific Conference A.L.I.C.E., which will take place on April 1, 2025, at the City Museum of Ljubljana. The conference is organized as part of the GoinGreenGlobal Design Week, a traditional annual event hosted by the Faculty of Design, providing a platform for discussions on sustainable development, innovation, and contemporary design practices.

This year’s conference, titled “Society 5.0 and Global Innovation“, will address the challenges of integrating technology, society, and environmental responsibility. The focus will be on the future of design and architecture in the context of digital transformation, smart cities, sustainable design strategies, and the importance of a human-centered approach to innovation.

Key Topics of the Conference

The conference will cover the following core themes:

Sustainable design and responsible use of materials – How can designers contribute to reducing environmental impact and create solutions that align with circular economy principles?
Smart cities and future technologies – How do technology, artificial intelligence, and digitalization transform urban planning and improve quality of life?
Society 5.0 and human-centered innovation – How can design go beyond aesthetics to become a key tool for social change and community engagement?
