Guest lecturer Slavimir Stojanović – Futro Design

This week, FD hosted Slavimir Stojanovic Futra, an internationally renowned graphic designer, visual artist, author, illustrator and professor from Belgrade. He held a three-day workshop at the Department of Visual Communications FD within the framework of Erasmus+ Staff Mobility

You can read more below:Slavimir Stojanović studied at the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade, Department of Visual Communications, and later at HDK (College of Design) in Gothenburg, Sweden, in the class of Professor HC Ericsson. He also worked for several years in Slovenia, within the framework of the companies Saatchi & Saatchi, Kompas Design, Arih Advertising, Communis DDB and his own Futro Design studio. He worked on commercial projects for many domestic and foreign clients, including: Sony, Michelin, Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, Allied Domecque, Abanka, Zavarovalnica Triglav, Ljubljanski Cinematografi, Studio Moderna, Delo Revije, Lisca, Gorenje, Europlakat, Droga Kolinska, MPC Holding, Entrix, Kozmo, Voda Vrnjci, Polimark, Idea, Atlantic Group, Knjaz Miloš, Plazma, Aqua Viva, Cabinet…

He also carried out many projects for cultural institutions, such as: Yugoslav Drama Theatre, New Moment magazine, Museum of Applied Art in Belgrade, Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade, Moderna Galerija Ljubljana, Cultural Center of Belgrade, Zvezdara Theater and many others.

Slavimir Stojanović’s works have received more than 300 world awards and recognitions, including: Epica, Cresta, Eurobest, Clio, Cannes Advertising Festival, London Advertising Festival Award, New York Advertising Festival Award, Portorož Golden Drum, Montreux Gold, Art Directors Club Annual Award , Directors Club Annual Award, Communication Arts Award, European Design Excellence Award, World Award, Zgraf and many others. He received the Brumen Grand Prix Award for the best graphic design in Slovenia. It received the Griffon Grand Prize for the best design in Serbia and Montenegro. His artworks are in the collections of the Pompidou Center in Paris, the Museum of Art and Advertising in Hamburg, the Poster Museum in Warsaw, the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Novi Sad.

His creative work has been the subject of many international and local magazines, including: Graphis, Communication Arts, Print, Creative Review, Novum, Computer Arts, Web Design, CMYK, M-Real, MM, Inside, Quadart, Before After, Vizkultura. Super visual…

His art is included in a book on contemporary graphic design by Taschen. It is featured in the book New Masters Of Poster Design by Rockport, USA.

His studio Futro Design ranks among the 100 best design studios in the world. He participated in more than 20 solo and group exhibitions in the country and abroad. He is the creator of the Futro lifestyle brand and a series of children’s picture books for the Singi Lumba adventure, for which he was awarded the most beautiful children’s book at the 2017 Belgrade Book Fair.

He regularly gives lectures and workshops at international festivals and conferences. He worked as a visiting professor at Singidunum University, Faculty of Media and Communication, as well as at the New Academy of Arts in Belgrade. In 2017, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from UEPS, the Serbian Association for Economic Propaganda. In September 2018, he wrote his first novel Nine, the first edition of which sold out within a week of its publication. Since October 2018, he has been teaching poster design at the Belgrade Academy of Applied Arts.
