Opening Event of Pilot Environments in Hungary
As part of the DRWO4.0 – Interreg Danube project, the opening event of the pilot environments took place on February 4. All project partners, their associated partners, and other invited representatives and stakeholders participated in the event. It was hosted at the premises of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Pecs, Hungary, by the hosting partner, the CICC Association (Cultural Creative Industry Cluster).
The opening event brought together experts, researchers, and industry representatives who shared insights into the importance of digitalization for the wood industry and its transformation in line with Industry 4.0 principles. Following the presentation of the DRWO4.0 project, the pilot environments (PE West, PE South, PE East) were introduced, accompanied by a discussion on the next project activities. Key topics of discussion included the design of wooden products, energy-efficient mechatronics in wood processing, lean methodology, wood in sustainable construction, and non-destructive testing of wood-based materials. The event concluded with a visit to the Pécs Organ Manufactory, where participants explored traditional organ craftsmanship combined with advanced technologies.
