The Minka Skaberne Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired, as part of the European project Multisensory Art
invites you to the opening of an exhibition by Prof. Iris Lobaš Kukavičić from Dubrovnik entitled
REQUIEM FOR THE SEA
The opening will take place on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Minka Skaberne Library for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Kotnikova 32, Ljubljana. www.kss-ess.si
The exhibition takes visitors on a unique multisensory experience that combines touch, sound, and light. The works are created in relief technique, complemented by fluorescent UV colors and ambient music Requiem for the Sea by composer Srđan Berdović. They are specially designed for tactile exploration, so blind and visually impaired visitors can also experience the works through touch.
The author, professor and artist Iris Lobaš Kukavičić, who comes from Dubrovnik, opens a space for reflection on the fragility of the sea, its significance to humanity, and the dangers brought by pollution. The exhibition aims to bring all visitors closer to the power of art that transcends mere vision and appeals to all the senses.
