On May 6, the exhibition Čar lesa (The “Charm of Wood”) opened at Cankarjev dom in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where works by members of the Intermunicipal Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired from Kranj are also on display. The works by blind and visually impaired individuals were created during a woodworking workshop held as part of the European project Multisensory Art. During the two-day workshop, we produced numerous wooden items. For The Magic of Wood exhibition, we submitted reliefs. The starting point for these was the emotion of anger. Participants shared what makes them angry. We all agreed that we are angry about people’s irresponsible behavior toward nature. We expressed this anger by hammering and imprinting various tools into the soft surface of spruce wood. The relief surfaces were then decorated with wooden rings and other wooden elements.
