Erasmus+ Days at the Faculty of Design
On Thursday, 10 September 2026, we gathered at the Faculty of Design’s Career Centre for Sharing Knowledge, Experiences and Good Practices. The event was organised by Jan Krmelj, Vice Dean for International Affairs and Head of the International Office, to share insights from international mobility with colleagues and explore how these experiences could enrich our work at the Faculty.
Prof. Nada Rožmanec Matičič, mag. Veronika Gruden Bole, Assist. Prof. Almina Duraković Korošec & Jan Krmelj, Assist. Prof. Inge Kalan Lipar & Assist. Prof. Tamara Hajdu, Prof. Jasna Hrovatin,PhD. & Assoc. Prof. Jordan Berginc, PhD., Assist. Prof. Mateja Š. Dimic, Sen. Lect. Petra Kocjančič & Assist. Prof. Mojca Perše, Lidija Rotar & Assoc. Prof. Damjana Celcar, PhD. presented their experiences of Erasmus+ exchanges and other international visits.
The presentations opened up a range of interesting topics: from expectations before departure and the experience of visiting a host institution to different approaches to teaching, organising work and engaging with students. We discussed how mobility contributes to professional and career development, how international perspectives can be incorporated into the curriculum, and how we could improve mobility arrangements at the Faculty.
Above all, we heard many examples of good practice that prompted a shared question: which of these ideas could work here, too?
Our Faculty may differ considerably from large university campuses in terms of size and infrastructure. Yet we can draw inspiration from their practices, discover different approaches and adapt them to our own resources and circumstances. Our small size can also be an advantage: it makes it easier to connect, consider ideas together and put changes into practice more quickly.
Thank you to everyone who contributed their honest reflections, practical suggestions and experiences. Meetings like this help knowledge gained abroad travel further – among colleagues, into our classrooms and to our students.
