10:05 – 11:05 Training: Design of wood products, Tamás Rácz, UNI Pecs
This Training session offers an in-depth exploration of sustainable furniture design, with a special focus on kitchen furniture. Participants will gain insights into the current state of furniture design, highlighting the European Union’s role in global production and the importance of sustainable practices. The session will cover innovative approaches, including Life Cycle Design and Circular Economy strategies, aimed at reducing environmental impacts. Attendees will learn about challenges in the furniture sector and discover design strategies for resource conservation, product longevity, and recycling. Through case studies, the training will showcase successful implementations of sustainable design. The session will conclude with a proposals for enhancing sustainability in kitchen furniture production, emphasizing the need for stakeholder collaboration to achieve a circular and sustainable furniture industry.

An overview of sustainable materials for the furniture industry, recycling/upcycling, 3D printing and 3D graphic design, and digital technologies.
