AIDEA Project Partners Meet in Graz for Second Transnational Meeting
The second transnational partner meeting of the Erasmus+ project AIDEA – Artificial Intelligence for a New Design Education Approach took place in Graz, Austria, on 5 and 6 October 2026. The meeting was hosted by the research centre Know-Center. The Faculty of Design was represented by Veronika Gruden Bole, MA, the project coordinator at the Faculty, and Assistant Professor Aleš Lipnik, PhD.
The partners reviewed the project’s progress and discussed findings from the literature review, the trend analysis informed by a survey of companies and organisations in the cultural and creative sector, and the national focus groups. Assistant Professor Aleš Lipnik presented the Slovenian report, which brings together the perspectives of students, higher education teachers, and representatives of companies and organisations on the use of artificial intelligence in design.
The main part of the meeting focused on jointly developing the foundations for the Manifesto and outlining a handbook of learning tools and methodologies. Both documents will support the thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence into design education, connecting the project’s three core dimensions: hands-on creative practice, or the intelligence of the hands; artificial intelligence; and social intelligence.
The partners also agreed on the next project tasks as the project moves into implementation and piloting, coordinated communication activities, and conducted a mutual evaluation of the quality of their collaboration to date.
