Volčji Potok, Friday, July 17, 2026, at 6:00 PM, marked the opening of the unique multisensory tactile exhibition Multisensory Art, designed for the blind, the visually impaired, and all visitors who wish to experience art in a different way.
The exhibition features five sculptures by artists from Slovenia, Croatia, and Serbia, which visitors will not only observe but also be able to explore through touch. QR codes providing audio presentations of the artworks and their creators are placed next to the individual sculptures, enabling a more accessible and inclusive art experience.
In its operations, the European Multisensory Art project enjoys the support of the Volčji Potok Arboretum, one of the leading botanical institutions in Slovenia, which contributes its expertise and space to the development of multisensory experiences in nature.
The Multisensory Art project, led by the Faculty of Design from Slovenia and operating in the three aforementioned countries since 2024, was created with the aim of increasing cultural accessibility for the blind and visually impaired, as well as encouraging the development of innovative approaches in the field of inclusive art. The exhibition proves that art can appeal to all senses—not only sight, but also touch, hearing, smell, and taste—stimulating the imagination and emotions.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Union of the Blind and Partially Sighted of Slovenia, which has been promoting equal access to cultural content for people with visual impairments for many years.
The Multisensory Art project is part of the Creative Europe program and is co-funded by the European Union. In Slovenia, it is also supported by the Ministry of the Interior and Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia.
