GoinGreenGlobal: Highlights of Day 4 of the International Design Week

Highlights of Day 4 I Wednesday, March 25

Wednesday, 25 March, at the Faculty of Design, as part of GoinGreenGlobal 2026, unfolded in a highly creative, dynamic and welcoming atmosphere, where diverse approaches, knowledge and perspectives on contemporary design came together.

The programme was strongly interdisciplinary, offering students direct engagement with international experts and valuable insights into current practices in sustainability, innovation and design thinking.

The morning programme featured the workshop Green Meets Cool: Contemporary Marketing of Circular Design, led by Prof. Dr. Dominik Walcher (Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Austria). Students explored contemporary approaches to marketing circular design and reflected on how sustainable ideas can be effectively communicated within a broader social context.

 

As part of the day, a meeting of partners within the KCDM project also took place, presenting ongoing activities, achievements and development directions within the Design Management Slovenia initiative.

The afternoon programme continued with diverse workshops.
Marie-Louise Rosholm (Studio MLR, Denmark) led the workshop Designing with Circular Principles vs Cradle to Cradle Principles, offering practical insights into circular design approaches.

Prof. Djordje Stanojević (SRB), had a workshop:

Lynne Elvins (Design Rally, UK) conducted the workshop Design for Sustainability, where students explored the role of design in shaping sustainable solutions and social impact.

In the lecture programme, Assoc. Prof. Arch. Maria Tămășan, PhD (Aurel Vlaicu University of Arad, Romania) presented Placemaking Beyond the City, encouraging reflection on spatial design beyond urban environments and the importance of local context.

The day concluded with an inspiring lecture by Prof. Dr. Hena Ali (London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, UK), titled Service Design and Designing the Future: Inclusive, Safe and Sustainable Cities, offering a broader perspective on the future of cities and the role of design in shaping them.

 

The entire day was marked by a relaxed yet highly engaged atmosphere. Students actively participated, exchanged ideas and explored new approaches, creating a strong sense of curiosity, collaboration and creative momentum.

GoinGreenGlobal continues to affirm its role as a platform where knowledge, practice and international collaboration come together.
